Since our humble beginnings in 2009 at the back of the Coach and Horse pub, we have raised over £40,000 for charities via contributions, collections, raffles and general donations made outside of our actual festival dates. Something we are extremely proud of!
Each year the Rock and Bowl Festival selects a charity to publicly support. In 2018, we actually chose three charities, but this year we are focusing on just one charity that is very dear to our hearts.
Charity for 2019
This year the Rock and Bowl Festival will be supporting the charity “Mind” in memory of Danny Jones who was a huge fan of the three day Shropshire music festival but sadly passed away just after the festival in 2018.
Mind
The charity Mind aims to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Shropshire Mind was established 42 years ago and provides a diverse range of quality services, across the County for the one in four people and their families acknowledged to be affected by mental or emotional distress. They aim to help to bridge the gap between illness and full independence for service users. They also strive to reduce the debilitation, alienation, stigma and social isolation experienced by vulnerable people living in rural areas

Many, many people suffer in silence from a myriad of things and this charity is close to the hearts of all of us who are involved with the festival.
This is why we are asking you, our festival community, to dig deep and support an incredibly important cause which not only provides a vital life line to many people in Shropshire, but the across the nation too. Thank you.
How can you support
Mind will be attending our three day family festival when you will be able to meet with one of their representatives and find out more about their amazing work. There will also be charity collection points during the three days of the Rock and Bowl Festival for you to donate to directly. In addition, after the event, we would like to choose some other local worth cases and organisations to support in spirit of community and support of the town. This will be announced after the 2019 festival.
Rock and Bowl Music Festival - May bank holiday!
The annual Rock and Bowl Music Festival, takes place over three days every May bank holiday weekend in our hometown of Market Drayton, Shropshire.
Located in the town’s picnic area near the Tern River, the festival site is a beautiful green space close to the centre of town – the perfect setting for our boutique Shropshire music festival!
