EMCd are not only integral to the production of Rock and Bowl Festival but also the Video broadcast and communication masters! With an extensive background in communications and events industries, they pride themselves on in turning complex concepts into the simplest and most engaging message.
We caught up with the Shropshire based EMCd Director, Jeremy Blandford, one of the founders of Rock and Bowl Festival, to find out what it takes to put on a three day Rock Music Festival for over 5,000 festival goers!
How long have EMCd been established and what do you they do?
EMCd have been established since 2010. They have two arms:
1. Video and animated films for Global to local businesses.
2. Event production (Rock and Bowl being one example) and video broadcast.
Can you tell us how EMCd are involved in the Rock and Bowl Festival?
EMCd became involved in Rock and Bowl Festival in 2012, when the event moved from the bowling green at the back of the Coach and Horses Pub in Market Drayton, to the town’s “famous” picnic area due to space constraints. We had worked with co-founder, Laurence Payne, on other events and given our expertise; we were the natural local sponsors both financially and skills wise.
Why is it important for EMCD to be part of the Rock and Bowl Festival 2019?
Rock and Bowl is not just our passion (we couldn’t ever imagine not being involved) but also our chance to showcase and highlight our team skills plus the technology we can deploy. It’s also our chance to put something back into the community and try and raise money for the chosen charities. We are also proud to sponsor work experience for those people who are interested in festival production, event management and video.
What is the most challenging aspect of the festival production?
Ah, getting volunteers to help load in and load out with all the heavy equipment! That and perhaps trying to choose (alongside the team) between so many talented local and national acts – the standard is just SO good!
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s Rock and Bowl Festival 2019?

Who is your favourite Rock Band?
Oh a hard one! There are SO many great bands, but if we took a vote here at EMCD and had to decide on one “desert island” band, it would have to be “The Foo Fighters”.
What is your favourite Joule’s Ale?
It has to be Green Monkey. You just cannot beat a long cool pint of sparkling Green
Monkey craft lager after a day’s shooting video or loading equipment for a festival!

The annual Rock and Bowl Music Festival, takes place over three days every May bank holiday weekend in our hometown of Market Drayton.
Located in the town’s picnic area near the Tern River, the festival site is a beautiful green space close to the centre of town – a great place to host our boutique, Shropshire music festival.
